Jos started his career in internal communications in 1991, when businesses were just starting to wake up to the commercial benefits of effective employee communication. Jos led internal communications for Bristol & West building Society (now part of Bank of Ireland), AA Insurance and finally AXA Sun Life.
In 2004, with thirteen years corporate in-house experience under his belt and a long-held desire to run a business, he decided the time was right to launch TYL.
Jos believed that in an industry full of consultants, there was a gap in the market for an internal communications delivery agency – with a focus on ‘getting stuff done’. Our business has grown every year since launch, delivering internal communications for a range of blue chip clients.
Jos and his wife Amanda live with their three children between Bristol and Bath, a short drive away from TYL’s home at Paintworks, Bristol’s creative quarter. Having been born in Manchester and grown up in Cheshire, his main love apart from family and the business is Manchester United (but please don’t hold it against him!)
